Trademark Classification

Trademark application is made for fewer than 45 different classes as per the NICE classification for trademark. Each of the trademark class illustrates a distinct set of goods and services. While filing a trademark application, the class of goods and services to which the trademark obtain must be mentioned in the application. It is significant to select the right class of trademark while arrange or file the application as the wrong classification of the trademark could hamper the trademark registration process and/or disparage the legal preservation and protection for the mark under the Trademark Act.

Trademark application can be filed in more than one class, if the activity of the business involves multiple goods or services falling under distinct trademark classifications. Moreover, even if a registered trademark exists less than one class, another organization can file a trademark application for the same mark under a different class. Hence, filing of trademark application under one class does not furnish complete exclusivity over use of the mark. Trademark provides exclusivity for handle of the mark with respect to the class of goods or services for which the trademark is registered. Apply the trademark class finder tool to find the correct trademark class for your goods or service from over 8000 goods and services.
